Information about Low-Fi

How it works

So how does it work? ...  It’s quite simple!

Musicians:

  • You create a listing with your band. If you are part of more than one constellation, create a listing for each.
  • We are primarily a platform for artists that create original content. That doesn't mean that you can't do covers, it just means you should not only do covers. Classical musicians, of course, have other traditions in this respect, so we won't hold it against you if you insist on only playing Mozart :-)
  • If you don't see your city in the "Category" field, drop us a note and we will make it appear asap.
  • Provide a good description of your music.
  • Include links to sound and/or video (yes, we hope to be able to embed this soon, but until then links will have to do).
  • Include pictures, you can post as many as you want.
  • Set a price.
    • Consider the fact that a living room might only hold 30-40 people. That means that for a shared event, there needs to be a balance between price of band, price of tickets and number of seats. In other words: If you think your name can help the host sell 30 tickets at $50, then a band price of $1500 is  totally appropriate. If not, then maybe take it down a notch or two ;-)
    • Low-Fi takes a 12% commission to keep the platform going. When you set the price for your band it will tell you how much it comes to.
  • Right now we can only handle payments with PayPal. That means you have to set up and connect a PayPal account. To set up a paypal account go here. To find out how to configure your Low-Fi profile to accept payments via paypal go here.
  • Invite people to the platform, share on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. As the community grows, so does our chance of offering more concerts and connecting more people.

Hosts:

  • Search for bands based on genre, price, location etc.
  • Contact the user who posted the listing to hear if the bands is available for the dates you have in mind and to clear out any additional questions you might have.
  • Request a band using the date fields and the request button.
  • If this booking is just for a private party, that’s it. It’s time to get excited about your private concert!
  • If you would like to open up your home and share this amazing band you just booked, here’s what to do next:
    • Create a listing for your concert.
    • Tell people who’s playing and why they shouldn’t miss this event.
    • Provide date, address, ticket price and any other instructions for the event. For the time being, we allow you to give your guests the option of MobilePay (DK), as we really want to encourage people to co-create and share spaces and experiences.
